2/10/2024 0 Comments Artisan zero or hien![]() This was/is the kind of insight I was looking for. Nor any view points of how much Artisan improved their aiming vs other non-artisan branded mouse pads. Nor view points stating that twitch shooting was more consistent. For example, statements stating that it improved headshots. And because of that makes it inconclusive. I have to say after the days of researching this mouse pad I've never consistently found any personal experiences in FPS games. ![]() My torn otsu from years back was giving me better perfomance than brand new pads I have like the vaxee PA.Ĭlick to expand.Would you go to a Hien then? turbocreaexperience notes a positive one once you get use to the x/y axial differences. I also read that the zero gets faster over time. I also had the raiden in the past, and that thing was uncontrollable, and caused most of my mice to malfunction.Īt least on my old raiden, the durability was worse then the old otsu. ![]() The v2 soft is a bit less soft than the old soft, maybe because its a little bit thinner than the old pads. To me the difference between the mid and soft are negligible in terms of performance, and you should choose only based on personal preference, I prefer the mid, but the soft v2 can be seeing as more comfortable. On the new pads its been a bit difficult to me because even though the static friction is very good, the pad feels faster and harder to control, I don't know if or when it will brake in, I washed the soft two times already and still feels like new. I was using the previous otsu v1, a bit torn already from the years, was still very good, very controlled with low static friction. I just got last week, an otsu mid and soft. Just for the price, i would go for a different hybrid pad when the Hien fail me, but so far they feel good as new. The price is steep though and got more expensive every year for non-japanese natives. To sum it up, the Hien is one of the best pads I ever used, it has significantly less wear then established cloth pads (Steelseries Qck+ comes to mind). If you have high sensitivity it might affect you more then others. My in-game sensitivity is medium to low, another point to consider when judging wear. However my impression with the Hien was, it is very durable and the glide stays consistent for the first ~50 hours of use. Also I always use fresh PTFE mouse feet of highest quality. I am not a power user, so I cannot really judge the wear. Regarding durability, the hybrid surface of the Hien should give an advantage in consistency and durability. You use the pad for 5-10 hours and are completely adjusted to it. The supposed different speed horizontally and vertically is a complete non-issue for me, I kind of doubt it has any significance whatsoever. If it is true that most other cloth pads are made of nylon then it could explain why they are a bit more durable then Arstian which uses polyester. And, although these seem like an upgrade it doesn't last long enough to get a decent return on the investment. When I don't have to do that with most other decent mouse pads. Problem is at it's price premium I can't see paying $70-$100 for a L/XL pad that I would need to replace in 6-12 months (anything smaller then a large is too small). There appears to be a durability problem with nearly all of them except the Raiden/Zero. ![]() Which brings me back to what I said earlier. Although I've gotten no real confirmation of this other then a few reddit posts. With the new Otsu some claim it can wear out within months. Some get it once they wash the mouse pad. Problem with the Hien is that it gets progressively slower over time in increments. There appears to be a durability issue with all of these mouse pads except for the Raiden/Zero. 3360 and higher or prehaps higher then the 3360. And this has a brownish kind of color to it. In which case you would buy the softer version not the mid for stopping power. Which appear to have the texture of a umbrella. If true, that level of degradation is huge for the Hien. Some post between 15 days and 3 months of owning the Hein by the time they buy the Otsu. That is because of how much the Hien has worn some by the time they buy the Otsu. Also do to the weave pattern of the Otsu, etc.īut this is only true when you compare out the box vs out the box. This is because the x/y axis speed on the Ostu is balanced more so then the Hien and much better then the Kou. Thus making the Ostu faster vertically but slower horizontally. While the Hien is less so as it's faster horizontally while slower vertically. Here is what I read (various testimonies, etc): And the Zero isn't much better then what I already have. I am aware that the Shidenkai will only last a few months. HAYATE OTSU version 2 or the updated version
